July ’17 / monthly goals

Hi everyone! Today, I wanted to start a series on my blog where I list out my monthly goals and what I plan to accomplish for that month. It can range from skincare/makeup, to diets, to socializing, to my career, etc…I thought this was a great way to get a little more personal with my blog-I primarily focus on beauty and food here so it would be interesting to post some more lifestyle content. I also think this is a great way to keep me in check in the beginning of each month. It would also be beneficial and interesting to look back on these posts in the future. I hope this gives other people some inspo and motivation for a fresh new month!

taking a kickboxing class

Okay, this one is something I actually already accomplished for this month. It is almost the end of the first week so I am a lil late but better late than never right?  I have been wanting to take a kickboxing class for some time but never had the guts. My friend and I went for it and I enjoyed it the workout so much! Being barefoot on the mats, not so much…lol. I am quite germaphobic so I was really aware of how many other feet have been on the mats and if they were cleaned properly hahaha. I also had to use loaner gloves so yeah. Other than that, it was a killer workout that turned my body into jello the next morning. Will def have to try another one this month!

apple cider vinegar shots

I used to take these almost daily last year and stopped doing it because I got incredibly lazy. Apple cider vinegar has so many benefits-the most important for me is the digestive aspect. I would take a shot of ACV, lemon juice, some water to dilute, and cayenne pepper every morning to get my digestive system started. This month, I WILL start doing this daily!

saying yes

I am a classic extroverted introvert. I seem like a social butterfly to everyone I first meet, but I’m actually a homebody who usually needs a lot of time to myself. So much to the point that I tend to say no to a lot of friend or family hangouts. This month, I want to say yes more. I want to say yes to beach hangouts, concerts, barbecues, and brunches. I don’t want to miss out on making memories with the people I care about. I will still make time for myself (obv) but will be saying yes to more things this month and the future.

pudge

What the heck is Pudge?! I actually have a very new Instagram that I post daily doodles on. Pudge is a character I made up years ago and I always loved to draw quirky sketches and comics of it-after finally getting a Wacom tablet, I decided to make an Instagram dedicated to them! I started posting daily this month and will be continuing. I do hope to grow and have my little creation reach out to a bigger audience. I love sharing my little drawings! If you want to check it out, you can find it on : @ellopudge.

no chips

If you know me, ya know that I loveeeeeee chips. I have a habit of snacking on some sort of chips after lunch and I really need to stop. It doesn’t help that my work has access to a plethora of chips so the temptation is very real everyday. BUT, I am determined to not have any through the entirety of this month. I haven’t for the first week which is already amazing. I might even see if I can last longer than this month but we will see…baby steps haha.

quality time with bf

This month is also dedicated to learning how to spend quality time with my boyfriend, Sean. We both have daytime jobs and the during the evenings we are usually doing our own things. Sean is a grad student so he studies all the time and I am usually blogging, taking pics, or drawing. We really want to make time for each other where we are not on our phones and instead, enjoying each other’s company! This is also a longer term goal as well obviously but this month is when I realized we need to start working on it.

cleaning my makeup brushes

We all do it. We all put off cleaning our makeup brushes until they get grimy enough to give them a good washing. This month, I plan to clean my brushes every two or three uses. Since I don’t wear makeup every day to work, this should be feasible for me. Yet I still put it off! I have to admit, sometimes dirty brushes seem to be the source of some of my acne. I know people who clean their brushes after every use-maybe I’ll try that next month but again, baby steps here haha.

Do you have any July goals?
